Everything you need to know about the healthier alternative to smoking
Vaping is designed for anyone and everyone over the age of 18 who is looking for an alternative to traditional smoking, from long-time smokers looking for a healthier option to those who simply don’t enjoy cigarettes.
Yes – While both smoking and vaping are nicotine-based, cigarettes and other such products contain tobacco, carbon monoxide, tar and a range of other harmful toxins. On the other hand, e-cigarettes use the vapour produced by heating up e-liquid as the vehicle for the nicotine instead of smoke.
Vaping is 95% less harmful than smoking, according to the British Medical Association.
People under the age of 18 cannot legally vape in the UK, or be sold any tobacco or e-cigarette products. For this reason, MyvapeDeals reserve the right to spot-check card details and our couriers may challenge you for proof of identity upon delivery.
Most vape products are categorised as mouth-to-lung (MTL) or direct-to-lung (DTL). MTL vaping involves drawing the vapour into the mouth before inhaling it into the lungs for a more discreet vaping experience, while DTL vaping works by inhaling the vapour directly into the lung like a shisha for more intense flavour. No style is vaping is necessarily better than the other, and the choice comes down to your own personal preference and experience.
E-liquid ingredients typically include water, nicotine, vegetable glycerin (VG) and/or propylene glycol (PG) to dilute the mixture and natural or artificial flavourings. Most e-liquid flavourings are used in sweets and food based products. You can browse our range of UK-made e-liquids here.
As e-liquids are generally made from the same base ingredients, you are free to mix and match flavours as you like. Many of our customers enjoy mixing flavours with menthol for a cooling finish, or adding additional nicotine to suit their tastes.
Yes. Our selection of UK-made E-liquids come in a range of strengths, from 0mg (Nicotine-free) all the way up to 20mg, while disposable vapes are premade to a particular strength (20MG).
You can find free calculators online, depending on how many cigarettes you smoke. A rule of thumb is that those who smoke more than 10 a day will benefit from an 12mg-18mg strength, those who smoke fewer than 10 a day will benefit from the 6-12mg range, and those who smoke fewer than 10 a week will benefit from the 3-6 mg range.
There is no hard or fast rule, besides paying attention to your nicotine cravings and smoking more or less accordingly.
The choice comes down to your personal preference. Disposable vapes are generally cheaper in the short term and more convenient, and can be smoked right out of the box without being charged or prepared. Vape kits, on the other hand, are more cost-effective in the long term and offer a greater degree of customisation with regards to wattage, temperature, coils and flavours. That said, please keep in mind that the UK government is considering a ban on disposable vapes.
Most concerns about disposable vapes stem from their use of non-recyclable lithium batteries, which are unfortunately not disposed of correctly. If you purchase a disposable vape, please be sure to recycle it at your local waste management, recycling centre, or a supermarket electronic drop-off waste point.
If the calls for their banning are heeded, disposable vapes will no longer be available potentially as early as 2024. For this reason, we recommend that you consider starter kits and mods as a long-term choice. Take a look at our range here.
As vaping does not involve combustion or smoke the laws that pertain to smoking indoors do not apply to vapes, although this is up to the discretion of the business or building’s owners. In addition, vaping is prohibited by most public transport companies.
The Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) is an EU initiative intended to regulate tobacco-based products by setting out rules and requirements that manufacturers and retailers must adhere to. Some of these requirements include:
All of the products you will find on our online vape shop are fully TPD compliant.
A higher ratio of VG to PG in an e-liquid results in a thicker vapour and a sweeter taste due to the natural flavour of vegetable glycerin. A higher PG content, on the other hand, results in a stronger and potentially harsher throat hit.
Nic salt refers to a type of e-liquid made from all the standard ingredients (water and a dilutant like vegetable glycerin) but with the addition of nicotine salt. They are generally of a higher strength than standard freebase e-liquids due to the body’s fast absorption of nicotine salt, tempered with a smoother throat hit. If in doubt, go for a lower-powered device. These have a slower and less-intense draw compared to higher-powered devices, almost comparable to a cigarette.
Sub-ohm vaping refers to vaping with e-cigarettes with an especially low resistance level (Below 1.0 ohm) for larger vapour clouds, more flavour and a stronger overall hit.
We recommend that you start with a standard 50/50 VG/PG ratio. Not only are they easy to use than e-liquids with a higher or lower VG/PG ratio, but are available in a wider variety of flavours.
