MTL vaping involves drawing the vapour into the mouth before inhaling it into the lungs for a more discreet vaping experience, while DTL vaping works by inhaling the vapour directly into the lung like a shisha for more intense flavour. No style is vaping is necessarily better than the other, and the choice comes down to your own personal preference and experience.

As e-liquids are generally made from the same base ingredients, you are free to mix and match flavours as you like. Many of our customers enjoy mixing flavours with menthol for a cooling finish, or adding additional nicotine to suit their tastes.

You can find free calculators online, depending on how many cigarettes you smoke. A rule of thumb is that those who smoke more than 10 a day will benefit from an 12mg-18mg strength, those who smoke fewer than 10 a day will benefit from the 6-12mg range, and those who smoke fewer than 10 a week will benefit from the 3-6 mg range.

There is no hard or fast rule, besides paying attention to your nicotine cravings and smoking more or less accordingly.

As vaping does not involve combustion or smoke the laws that pertain to smoking indoors do not apply to vapes, although this is up to the discretion of the business or building’s owners. In addition, vaping is prohibited by most public transport companies.

The Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) is an EU initiative intended to regulate tobacco-based products by setting out rules and requirements that manufacturers and retailers must adhere to. Some of these requirements include:

• Restricting the capacity of tanks to 2ml
• The inclusion of warning leaflets on products
• Capping nicotine strength at 20mg/ml
• Restricting the maximum volume of nicotine in a single container to 10ml

A higher ratio of VG to PG in an e-liquid results in a thicker vapour and a sweeter taste due to the natural flavour of vegetable glycerin. A higher PG content, on the other hand, results in a stronger and potentially harsher throat hit.

Nic salt refers to a type of e-liquid made from all the standard ingredients (water and a dilutant like vegetable glycerin) but with the addition of nicotine salt. They are generally of a higher strength than standard freebase e-liquids due to the body’s fast absorption of nicotine salt, tempered with a smoother throat hit. If in doubt, go for a lower-powered device. These have a slower and less-intense draw compared to higher-powered devices, almost comparable to a cigarette.
